Why You Should Visit DelGrosso’s Park, A Pennsylvania Destination for Pasta Lovers

DelGrosso’s Park isn’t your average amusement park. It is the only place in Pennsylvania where you can crush a roller coaster, cool off in a water park, then sit down to a plate of spaghetti made with a sauce that’s been simmering in family tradition for over 100 years.

Located in Tipton, PA, the amusement park blends two things most people love: heart-pounding rides and old-school Italian cooking. This family-run park has built a loyal following not just for its thrills, but for its sauce. They make and sell pasta sauce across the U.S., and you can taste it fresh right in the park.

The Theme Park Is Built on Sauce

The DelGrosso story goes back to 1911. Marianna Pulcino came to America with her pasta sauce recipe and opened a small café in Altoona. Her daughter, Mafalda, met and married Fred DelGrosso, and they turned that family recipe into a local legend. By 1943, they were serving “the best spaghetti dinner in town.”

Three years later, Fred sold their café and bought a rundown amusement park called Bland’s. It wasn’t flashy, but it had potential. More importantly, it had a kitchen. From there, they started making batches of sauce in cans, sealed by hand. Today, DelGrosso Foods is the oldest family-owned pasta sauce brand in the country.

You can find them in stores nationwide and even featured on NBC’s TODAY show and in Rachael Ray magazine. But the best way to experience it? Go straight to the source. DelGrosso’s Park.

Eat First, Ride After

Forget overpriced chicken tenders and soggy fries. At DelGrosso’s Park, food is part of the main attraction. You will find pasta loaded with their signature sauce, thick-crust pizza, and Italian-style sandwiches that go way beyond standard theme park fare.

Their kitchen still uses the same recipes passed down through generations. So, when you eat here, you are tasting over a century of family tradition. It is a full-blown Italian food experience in the middle of a theme park.

Pro tip: Try the spaghetti platter. People don’t just talk about the rides here. They rave about the pasta.

Rides That Actually Rock

Of course, DelGrosso’s Park isn’t just about food. The rides hold their own. The park covers 79 acres and features over 30 rides for all ages. You have got the Crazy Mouse, a wild spinning coaster that is way more intense than it looks. The X-Scream Tower drops you 120 feet, just in time to lose your lunch if you weren’t careful with the sauce.

DelGrosso’s Park / IG / For younger riders, there is the Wacky Worm kiddie coaster and Tipton Creek Railroad, a scenic train ride that’s more chill but still a solid hit.

Kids Kingdom has helicopters, fire trucks, and boats designed just for the little ones. Plus, there is enough here to keep the whole family moving from morning till night, no bored teens or tired parents included.

Cool Off at Laguna Splash

Pennsylvania summers can get brutal. That is where Laguna Splash comes in. This Italian-themed water park is connected to DelGrosso’s Park and has everything you want when the sun starts cooking. The lazy river, called River Lazio, lets you float under bridges and past fountains while staying cool.

Wave Oceano brings the surf, while Bambini Cove is perfect for little kids to splash around safely. Laguna Waterworks is pure chaos in the best way, with slides and a massive tipping bucket that dumps water from two stories up. If you are feeling bold, head to the Gravity Groove or Midnight Express water slides for a fast, twisty ride.

You will need your swimsuit, sunscreen, and maybe a little courage.
