Joint Pain is Getting More Common in Youngsters – Here’s How to Combat It

Do you think joint pain is a problem just for the elderly? Think again.
You can experience joint pain in your youth from genetic or juvenile causes like psoriatic or sceptic arthritis, or even due to trauma, repetitive, or sports injury.

How You Experience Joint Pain
This can be divided into three categories:
– The first involves the brain categorizing normal impulses as pain when the nervous system fails to function properly;
– The second involves direct trauma to the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, which make up the complete nervous system;
– The third involves pain receptors transferring impulses and chemicals to the nervous system when organs or tissues receive trauma.
How Your Work Affects You
The type of job you do plays a major role in joint pain. As they say, anything in excess is bad for you. Therefore, if you’re a manual worker involved in repetitive heavy lifting, your bones and muscles protecting the skeletal system are at risk of wear-out.
At the same time, if you work a 9-5 desk job, you’re at risk of atrophy and other muscular issues that may cause pain, decrease in mobility, or restriction in movement. Working out the balance is in your hands. For manual workers, sufficient rest is essential while desk workers need to increase their mobility.

Why Your Weight Matters
This is basic science- the more you weigh, the more the pressure on your lower body. Studies into the matter have revealed a position correlation between a decreased weight and decreased musculoskeletal disorders. While there are still many conditions, such as those that are genetic, which you can’t reverse but, losing weight can add significantly to your betterment.
Can Supplements Help?
You are what you eat – there’s no denying that. A lack of Vitamin D is associated with increased joint pain, therefore it is suggested that you increase your intake. Dietary supplements like fish oils, calcium, and Vitamin D are great for your musculoskeletal system.
Additionally, try avoiding inflammatory foods including processed meats, additives, and foods with high sugar content. We know that cod liver oil works great for digestion and heart-related issues but now we know it’s excellent for joints as well.

Wrapping It Up
One final thought before we sign off: stress less.
We’ve come to learn that you can’t treat pain effectively until you find that fine balance between work and personal life. Stress and pain have a causal relationship. You can always look towards soothing remedies like mindfulness, meditation, or relaxation. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can also have a great impact.
