These Beloved Stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age Are Still Alive And Enjoying Life In Retirement

VICTORIA PRINCIPAL – 1950

Victoria Principal was born in Japan while her father, a military man, was stationed in Japan. She pursued an education in medicine although, that came to an end after facing a near-fatal car crash. Now aged 71, Principal worked as an actress for three decades, retiring at the beginning of the 21st century.

During her active years, Principal was mostly noted for her portrayal of Pamela Barnes Ewing in the soap opera Dallas. Her last appearance before retirement is of Gwen Williams in Titans. She founded and ran her own skincare line, Principal Secret, from the ’80s to 2019 until she sold it to Guthy Renker.

 Lana Wood – 1946

Peyton Place aired on ABC in the ’60s, and Lana Wood appeared on it as Sandy Webber. She also featured in the 007 movie Diamonds Are Forever. She’s the late Natalie Wood’s sister and adopted the last name after making her debut in the 1956 film The Searchers.

Lana is 75 and has maintained a steady flow of work through the years. Her most recent credit was in the 2019 production The Marshal. She has three grandkids, thanks to her son Evan Taylor Maldonado. All her six marriages ended in divorce, and Evan is the son she had with Richard Smedley.

Warren Beatty – 1937

Fifteen Oscar nominations and standing as the only person nominated for the three major awards for the same film are some of Henry Warren Beatty’s career achievements. Heaven Can Wait and Reds are the films that saw him garner award nominations in the producing, writing, and directing categories.

Beatty is also known for appearances in the TV series The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. He isn’t slowing down at 84 and is currently working on an untitled documentary project by Budd Schulberg. He’s been married to Annette Bening for nearly three decades, and they are blessed with four children.

Robert Duvall – 1931

After serving in the U.S. military during the early ’50s, Robert Duvall decided to try his luck in Hollywood, and things could’ve hardly gone any better for him. But to be honest, luck had nothing to do with it: Duvall is a talented and hardworking American actor that appeared in some major movies, including the all-time classics The Godfather and Apocalypse Now.

What’s even more impressive is that Duvall is still a sharp and active actor at the advanced age of 90. The California native has most recently starred in the 2021 historical sports movie 12 Mighty Orphans.

James Caan – 1940

From the Bronx to Hollywood, the American actor James Caan starred in movies like The Godfather, Thief, and Misery and appeared in more than 130 acting productions over the years. A versatile performer, he celebrated his 81st birthday last March, but he’s not considering retirement just yet.

To see him doing what he does best, just check the 2021 comedy-drama Queen Bees, which has a fantastic cast of senior actors such as Ann-Margret and Ellen Burstyn. Caan is also the father of the actor Scott Caan, who you may know from Hawaii Five-0.
